Week 13

Bits and pieces of the puzzle (plans and section etc.) are handed to me from everyone for layout in illustrator. Communications are still made to see if the layout works well and fit the theme of the house. Renders hot from the oven are passed to me by sunder to add in humans from Photoshop as well as choosing the images that we will add in the analogue drawings.

note: justin would not be there...in the final photoshop but I had fun adding him to see his reaction...

I must say, we all have done our job diligently and have participated in this actively.

Week 12

The model was sent to Saunder to make renderings.

It would be a few days wait before we could all work and discuss on it again

Showing my previous renders to Saunder to have a clear picture on how each camera angle (aka. the money shot) should be and how we can improve the textures of the house. 
 

Week 11

After the presentations on our progress its interesting to hear form the tutor that if there are any augments throughout the process. But interestingly enough, we have none. Although, sometimes we have little disagreement but we find ways to convince each other that our decision is all good and would make the project better.

The rooms are up...

Communicated with tony to plan the interior space of the house and to place furniture in the house. AS we are all working in the same lab. changes and problems are solved quickly.

Brian came to discuss with me and Justin about the landscape that we would have to create as the house in CAD is almost done.The site mash was added as well.

Week 10 -2

Final tweaking the roof were made by me to make the design more dynamic...

Week 10

The task allocations are formed the lists are:

Justin - creative Consultant, CAD Modeler

Me - Creative leader, presentation artist

Saunder - project admin/ manger, render monkey

Brian - moderator CAD modeler, landscape artist

Tony - Interior artist, material seeker

Although the task was allocated but we have all agreed to help each out if there are issues among each other or if the particular person could not fulfill his task on that day.

Working on the Archicad BIM server was a new thing to me so me and my team was really excited to see how this project would turn out. 

Sketches by me on the plans and the roof design to Brian to build the initial model in Archicad BIM server and seeing the BIM server operation for the 1st time.

Alterations and changes were communicated through out the entire team via Facebook or through this blog or meet up sessions in studio. But most of the time we are in the lab making moderations to the design as the server is having problems. Which is really crap….As, it does not allow us to work from home or anywhere... Shouldn’t working on a team project in a remote place be the reason of using a BIM server?

Week 9 -2

The group we have formed was among close friends therefore communicating is not a problem.

The issues that we discuss about are issues concerning the alterations that we would set out to do as well as to appoint the different task to the people within our group.The task was issued jugging by each of our strength and limitations

The alterations are chosen by critiquing and looking through each of our previous assignment to decide which would be the best candidate for this project. The final chosen design was from Justin as we wanted something simple to add on and modify in this project and we thought that the form and plans of Justin's design have the potential to develop into a more dynamic design.

Taken from Justin’s blog which he typed while we were discussing:

With my project being chosen as the building we were modifying, I've witnessed my building being used and tested for various design shapes, notably, by my group mates Kristopher and Saunder. Our ideas generated were very Zaha Hadid-influenced, apparently.

Our design for the modified house is bold, creative, and very complex.

The facades of my complex profile are removed and the building now is at a much larger scale. The deck that protrudes from the house had been removed. Room allocations and spaces have been revised and modified. The curved roofs which made the shape of the initial building, has been further enhanced with more curved and dynamic roofs.

The palettes of materials, primarily timber, have been substituted with concrete, concrete, and more concrete!

As for additions, a customized shape swimming pool has been placed next to the house, with fragments of landscape surrounding the entire house.
